Gerstenblith attended Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and then returned to his native Maryland for medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Parnes sees patients with a wide variety of posterior segment diseases. He has participated in clinical research trials that have led to advancements in the current treatment of retinal disorders. Parnes has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers and textbook chapters pertaining to Ophthalmology and retinal disease.
