This figure is Made To Order and is expected to ship in Q3 2023.Comes with crossbow accessory and battle axe (not pictured).Savage details like a wild faux fur and removable chest plate.16 points of articulation for ferocious poses and displays.Offered for the first time as a stand-alone figure in the Origins line, Grizzlor is the perfect addition to your MOTU collection. Fans will love the savage details like his Horde chest plate and lighter fur, just like his vintage version. He’s highly articulated and comes with a crossbow for poses to display his brute strength. If the Origins "style" works, I wouldn't be wholly surprised to see other figures be made in a similar style to allow for cheaper shared tooling, but also the ability to promote the compatibility and interchangable nature of the figures. The Evil’s Horde’s savage man-beast returns to terrorize Eternia! Wild and untamed, Grizzlor has a full body of faux fur. I know these are fantasies, but I see Mattel being able to do so much with this toyline.Great post!Īnd considering Mattel lost DC, there's no doubt that they want to promote some more boys toys lines to help fill those gaps. Imagine Food Fighters or Mad Scientist inspired monster figures. We have hints Mattel wants to be bring back Street Sharks, why not make then compatible with Origins. I know these are fantasies, but I see Mattel being able to do so much with this toyline. We are already getting a WWE spin-off, but why stop there. Since I see Mattel being able to do so much with this design. Actually I hope they start calling whole thing the MOTU-lok system or something like that to really push the gimmick. Just imagine if they bring out an Origins Modulok and all the weird combinations he would allow. It allows for creativity and experimentation. I really love figures with swappable parts, personally I see it as an underused gimmick. But I think Mattel potentially has one of their best toylines with Origins, thanks in part to the modular nature of the figures. I didn't grow-up with He-Man outside watching 200x show, and it's only been the last few years that I have gained any significant He-Man related knowledge. ![]() I realize I am probably coming at this from a different angle then most of the population here. The desire to talk about it is the reason I joined the forums. It would be so cool to walk down the toy aisles with him and see him get excited about something I loved so much as a kid as still love. He'll be 4 when these things come out, and I would love to see a Masters renaissance with his generation. Personally, I'm ecstatic that these toys will be hitting the market right at about the time that my son will be the right age to truly get into them. The bottom line is that it's obvious they're not just aiming at collectors here, and if they want to connect with today's kids, there's going to be some differences from the toys we had growing up. Remember that the original MOTU line was created partially by focus groups, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the changes made this time around came about the same way. While the vintage head might be a little more of a long-shot since they seem to be launching this new line with kids in mind, I don't think the alternate hands would be totally out of the question.Īnd I really don't think it's a bad thing if they're trying to start fresh with new heads and face sculpts. For everyone lamenting the lack of accessories present in the carded sample, I think this is far from the exact final product, considering I don't even see He-Man's sword or other weaponry in there, and I assume he will at least come with what's shown in the promo picture.
